About MPSEA

Formerly known as MPIA

Who We Are

The Malaysian Photovoltaic Industry Association (MPIA) has rebranded as the Malaysian Photovoltaic and Sustainable Energy Industry Association (MPSEA), marking a strategic shift to reflect its broader mission—leading Malaysia’s transition to a sustainable and inclusive energy future.

Since its establishment in 2006 under the Malaysia Building Integrated Photovoltaic (MBIPV) Project, supported by UNDP and the former Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications (KTAK), MPIA has been instrumental in shaping Malaysia’s solar PV landscape. From a founding base of 45 members, MPSEA now boasts nearly 300 members across the full solar value chain, including manufacturers, system integrators, consultants, financiers, academics, and more.

Through public engagement, policy advocacy, and education, the association has played a pivotal role in growing awareness and adoption of solar energy nationwide. Now, as MPSEA, the organisation expands its mandate beyond solar to encompass the wider renewable energy ecosystem.

MPSEA remains dedicated to building a resilient, low-carbon energy future for Malaysia through collective industry action and policy leadership.

Our Vision

Everyone can generate their own electricity via solar PV.
